Organic Skincare? Avoid chemicals and synthetics!
My clients often ask me is it really important to use Organic Skin Care? The answer is definitely Yes!
So what is an organic skin line?
It consists of skin products made of only organically grown plants along with some other naturally occurring ingredients. Natural and Organic skincare products work better because of their composition and increased penetration rate. The sophisticated natural systems of your skin does not let everything in. Some heavy moleculed products just simply sit on the surface, but they do not make into a deep layer where everything including new cells, collagen, and elastin are produced. Deep absorption is essential in receiving long term results. And even more importantly, from the perspective of one’s well-being, organic is just simply better for you. If you are in pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, choosing Organic skincare is a must.
It is necessary to remember that whatever is applied on your skin is immediately absorbed into your bloodstream and is carried through your cells and body. Most of us are concerned about the benefits of eating a healthy diet, but we often neglect the potential harm caused by all the chemicals in the skin products that we are slathering on and rubbing in.
The connection between the health issues and exposure to chemicals is proven by multiple studies and research. Rates of illness, disease, and allergies continue to rise. We need to eliminate or reduce exposure to chemicals and synthetics. Not only by improving our diet, but by changing the skin care routine as well. The main reason some of the well-known cosmetic companies are selling chemically and synthetically enhanced products is profit. These ingredients are often simpler and cheaper to manufacture and usually fast acting and invasive. Many of those products may give you instant gratification with skincare results that are just temporary and not without the price to pay afterwards. Smoother less visible wrinkles, disappearance of sun spots and blemishes are just a few of the promises that have been made, and some of the synthetic based products can temporarily deliver, but often there are damaging side effects such as thinning of the skin(causing eventually premature aging), accelerated dehydration, or photosensitivity in the long run. The more serious problem is that chemicals used in some cosmetics such as parabens, dyes, or sulfates may cause skin irritation, chronic headaches, hormone disruption, or even cancer(parabens has been linked to breast cancer).
Organic skin care gives you amazing long-term results without any sacrifice. It smells good, feels great, and always delivers!
Water for Healthy Skin & Healthy You
You should start out each day with a large glass of room temperature lemon water. Lemons are rich in vitamins especially vitamin C, one of the most powerful antioxidants that boosts your immune system, decreases your chances for a cardiovascular disease and as most antioxidants offers cancer-fighting properties.
Toxins are the number 1 reason for most of the health issues including inflammation, heart problems, and even cancer.
By hydrating our body, (especially our lymph system), we help to dilute that poisonous load of toxins we naturally produce due to our usually imperfect life style. Toxicity can be caused by stress, diet high in processed food and sugar, pollution, disease, medication, etc. Water purifies our body!!!!
Why Lemon?
Lemon energizes you and it enhances your mood. Lemon is one of the foods that contain alkaline PH and more negative charged ions, providing your body with more energy when it enters the digestive tract. Alkaline PH reduces the body’s overall acidity. Acidic PH is a perfect environment for any disease, especially CANCER!!!! The goal is to balance the acidity and alkalinity in the body. Imbalance weakens the immune system.
The smell of lemon in your water also has mood enhancing and energizing properties. It can brighten your mood, reducing anxiety, depression, and help clear your mind.
Your Liver will say THANK YOU!
According to studies the citric acid in lemons helps maximize enzyme function, stimulating the liver and increasing overall detoxification. Lemon water reduces heartburn and constipation; it also promotes the urinary tract health. It also works as an appetite suppressant so it helps in weight loss. It removes all extra and harmful materials from the blood, and keeps blood concentration normal.
How about SKIN?
The vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants available. Internally and topically, it dramatically helps in decreasing wrinkles, hyper pigmentation, scars, and acne. It is universal for any skin type and any age.
Is this harsh winter causing you skin to be dry, flaky and tight?
The most important thing you can do to help your skin stay hydrated is to drink a lot of water! Certain foods can also be a great resource to improve the quality of your skin. Avocados are a great source of vitamins C, E, and monounsaturated fats, which help your skin lock in moisture. Fish such as salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines, anchovies, and rainbow trout contains omega-3 fats, which strengthen skin cells and help to protect it.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is full of vitamin E and good fats, and will moisturize skin both from the inside (eaten) and out (topical application). Nuts and seeds (raw are the best) are the ultimate power food. Almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, hazelnuts, pistachios, and sunflower seeds all contain variations of these healthy pro-skin ingredients. They contain omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, B and E, monounsaturated fats and minerals, and a host of antioxidants. These hydrate your skin, promote its elasticity, help regenerate cells, and protect against pollutants and free radicals.
Eggs are high in protein, which helps cell regeneration, and promotes skin hydration and elasticity.
Hydrating and Oxygenating Organic Facial including; deep exfoliation with Red Currant Scrub (rich in Vit C), heavenly massage with Calendula Essential Oils to calm and hydrate, Coconut Mask to plump and rejuvenate, and as the finale our blend of anti-aging stem technology serums and Age Corrective Monoi Soufflé.

Would you like a younger-looking and healthier skin?
Here’s the answer: Facial massage can firm, smooth and sculpt.
The whole idea behind facial lines, which are caused by repeated facial movement – is that when your muscles contract in the same direction over and over again, it causes wrinkles. Facial massage just like Botox (though the effects are more subtle) also relaxes facial muscles. It helps decrease puffiness as well. By manipulating facial muscles the blood flow, which brings oxygen and nutrients to the area is highly increased.
The most well known type of therapeutic facial massage is lymphatic drainage. This technique involves gentle massage of the lymph nodes in order to encourage cellular detoxification. As the lymph flows away from the skin and back to the heart, it is, essentially, decongesting the skin. Lymphatic drainage is often used—and is highly effective—after surgery to reduce edema and increase healing time.
Benefits of facial massage are especially visible after the age of 40. This is the beginning of the slackening of the skin. Younger skin tissue is very strong. But over time, it becomes more susceptible to gravity due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibers that hold all the layers of muscle, fat and skin together. Regular massage can help keep these layers in place. During professional facial massage muscles relax and circulation increases, which creates beautiful glow but also helps key ingredients in serums, ampoules and creams penetrate the skin more easily and effectively.
According to Chinese Medicine your facial appearance is a reflection of your body’s internal condition, for example: a kidney deficiency can show up as deep, dark circles under your eyes.” While massage alone won’t treat internal health problems, when done regularly it can help relax the face and alleviate dullness, sagging and even frown lines.
Getting your lips ready for fall
Gentle exfoliation and deep moisturizing may be the best you can do to prepare your lips for colder weather. You can purchase the product or simply make your own scrub at home. Mix a tablespoon of virgin olive oil with a pinch of brown sugar and lightly rub the mixture over your lips to remove any flakes.
Apply a moisturizing lip balm and let it absorb for a couple of minutes. Now that your lips are prepped, let’s look at the hot new lip colors for fall.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!!!
About every 28 days, your skin replaces itself – that is why I always recommend monthly facials, so we can stimulate new cells as they emerge (think skin, collagen, elastin) – turning them into “super cells”.
It takes less than 2 years for your liver to start over, and your bones will replace themselves every 10 years. Your body produces those new cells from the food you eat. What you eat literally becomes you.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE OF WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF!
The truth about your pores
Bigger doesn’t always mean better, especially when it comes to your pores. Unfortunately, you can’t get rid of your pores or even permanently shrink them. But there are things you can do to minimize their appearance and help restore an even-looking complexion.
The key to making your pores appear smaller is to keep them clean. Use a gentle cleanser twice a day to wash away dead skin cells and prevent oil from building up. Exfoliating at least twice a week, with a facial scrub, makes a huge difference. Excess oil mixed with the dead cells and dirt can clog your pores—making them larger and more visible—and can even lead to infection (acne).
Extractions, extractions, extractions! The best you can do for your pores is to get them regularly cleaned (extracted) by a licensed esthetician. The difference is amazing. Some skin types will also benefit from enzyme or acid based peels (especially when scar tissue or hyper-pigmentation developed) performed at the spa or dermatologist’s office.
What about toners? Toners play an important role in your skin care regimen by getting rid of any remaining makeup residue or excess oil that sits in your pores. Even more importantly, toners adjust your skin’s pH balance, which increases product absorption. Most of us love the fresh feeling after using a toner, and we immediately notice our pores and skin feeling tighter! Always choose an alcohol-free toner!
And always remember to wash off the foundation before going to bed!!!!
Green Power
My regular clients know I love talking about food and diets during the spa treatments. For the past couple of months, I have been more involved in raw food diet and juicing than ever before and I like to share it with you. I don’t believe in any extremes as far as diets go, but this one – I promise –it is worth your while.
Most of you know, I lost my mom to cancer five years ago and it completely changed my perspective on everything in life including; relationships, possessions, lifestyle, respect to own life, and of course – diet.
I’ve been juicing on and off science I was a teenager, but it became my obsession when one of my clients confirmed my belief in its power, by telling me a story of her ill husband who after many conventional treatments was loosing a battle with a very aggressive cancer and was given just a few months to live.
Thankfully he is still alive and better than ever, and his doctors have no explanation for this amazing recovery. He wakes up every morning and juices – no exceptions, and juicing was his miracle.
There are facts about juicing that are commonly known such as vegetable juice is healthier as opposed to fruit juice (less sugar), it is better to bland then juice so that you get the fiber from the veggies. I personally juice my veggies and bland my fruits.
WHY GREEN? Green juices are much more beneficial as opposed to just any vegetable juice. They are power-packed with nutrition. The greens produce chlorophyll, which enable our cells to release stored toxins. A green juice will cleanse your digestive system, lungs, liver, and provide you with a boost of energy. All green plants are also rich in many Vitamins including A and C, which are important co-factors for calcium absorption. Chlorophyll foods (greens) also act as a form of ‘stored sunshine’, to regulate calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. So if you get no sunshine, then increase the greens in your diet.
Green juices should be ingested on an empty stomach (first thing in the morning or in-between meals). It is healthier if your juice is green, but any raw juices deliver a powerful amount of vitamins, minerals and enzymes that are absorbed immediately into the blood stream, so any juice will do.
It is important, however to avoid combining vegetables with fruits, as they require different enzymes for digestion. The only exception is an apple, which has a more neutral effect.
Potassium Loaded Green Juice:
- 1 handful of spinach
- 1 handful of kale (alternate with parsley)
- 2 stalks of celery
- 1 green apple
- 1/2 lime
Pinch of fresh ginger, ENYOY!!!
